The City of Fairfax’s noise ordnance (City Code Section 38-1) prohibits residents from work that generates construction or commercial noise on Sunday, unless it is related to a legitimate emergency. Construction may take place only from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Interior construction, that does not create noise audible at the property line, is permitted at any time. Residents are kindly asked to schedule their maintenance accordingly.
